WWE Spoilers Present "The Royal Rumble" Day

















As the 25th annual Royal Rumble event will be taking place tonight, we've decided to have a "Royal Rumble Day" today, all day long right here on WWESpoilers.co.cc! Royal Rumble 1988
The first-ever Royal Rumble Match featured only twenty Superstars, and was won by "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan. The event was broadcast on the USA Network, not pay-per-view.

ROYAL RUMBLE 1989
Big John Studd won 1989's Rumble Match, which featured WWE Legends including Hulk Hogan, Randy Savage, Andre the Giant and Ted DiBiase. Plus, King Haku and Harley Race battled for the King of Wrestling crown.

Hulk Hogan earned his first Royal Rumble Match victory in 1990 by outlasting The Ultimate Warrior, Mr. Perfect and others.

ROYAL RUMBLE 1991
Hulk Hogan became the first man to win two Royal Rumble Matches, and Iraqi sympathizer Sgt. Slaughter defeated The Ultimate Warrior to win the WWE Championship thanks to interference from Randy Savage.

The vacant WWE Championship was up for grabs in 1992's Royal Rumble Match, won by eventual 16-time World Champion "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair.

ROYAL RUMBLE 1993
Yokozuna dominated in the 1993 Royal Rumble Match. Plus, Bret Hart defended the WWE Championship against Razor Ramon, and Marty Jannetty faced off against his former Rockers tag team partner Shawn Michaels for the Intercontinental Championship.

The 1994 edition of the Royal Rumble Match ended in a draw as Lex Luger and Bret "Hit Man" Hart were the final two competitors in the ring, and eliminated each other simultaneously. Both Superstars were declared victorious.

It was a night of shocking conclusions as The Rock seemingly forced Mankind to say the words "I Quit" to win the WWE Championship, and Mr. McMahon won the Royal Rumble Match by eliminating "Stone Cold" Steve Austin.

Drastic times called for drastic measures as Mick Foley metamorphosised into Cactus Jack to challenge Triple H for the WWE Championship at Madison Square Garden. In a controversial ending to the Royal Rumble Match, The Rock was declared victorious.

ROYAL RUMBLE 2001

Kurt Angle defeated Triple H to retain the WWE Championship, and "Stone Cold" Steve Austin won his record third Royal Rumble Match in 2001, which also featured future inductee to the celebrity wing of the WWE Hall of Fame, Drew Carey.

Chris Jericho defeated The Rock to retain the Undisputed Championship. Two weeks earlier, Triple H returned after an eight-month absence, and went on to win the Rumble Match.

The Undertaker finally won his first Royal Rumble Match in 2007 after seven previous attempts, and became the first Superstar to be victorious as the 30th entrant. The Phenom had also been the 30th entrant in 1997 and 2003.
